Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This policy explains what happens when you use Decant (the "Service"), a free browser-based wine and food pairing guide. The Service is operated by mAInstream AI.

What we collect ourselves

None. Decant has no sign-up, no accounts, and no server-side backend. The following is stored only in your own browser's local storage, on your own device: your confirmation that you are 18 or older, the ingredients you tapped as already having, and your shopping list. We never see it, receive it, or store a copy of it anywhere.

Fonts

Decant loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When the fonts load, Google receives standard request information from your browser, such as your IP address.

What advertising partners collect

This Service is funded by advertising, served through Google AdSense. Ads may appear on the written wine guides in the /wine-guides section. The Decant app screens show no ads. To show ads on the guides, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technology to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see the same ad.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent prompt (served by Google, via the site's Privacy & messaging configuration) before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you can withdraw or change that consent at any time from the link it provides.

Local storage vs. cookies

The local storage described above is a different technology from advertising cookies: it is not sent to any server, not shared with advertisers, and not used to track you across sites. It exists so your choices are still there the next time you open Decant on the same device and browser. Clearing your browser's site data will reset it.

Age restriction

Decant is about wine and is only for people aged 18 or older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will address it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the EU/UK GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you by our advertising partners, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, these requests are best directed to Google via the links above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or advertising formats. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
